First Beach Trip of the Season

Standard

Halle and I were invited by our friends D and P to go to the beach a few days ago.
It is still mind-blowing that we live so close to the beach!
This beach is called El Jardin. It is great. Very few people and very close! – Less than 10 miles!

I wasn’t too sure what Halle (the cautious one) was going to think about the water,
so I didn’t even bother putting her in a swimsuit because I didn’t expect her to go into the water.
She loved playing in the sand and generally making a big mess :) – atta girl!

IMG_7364 IMG_7357

We did make it to the water, and she enjoyed walking in it.
But was surprised by the waves and didn’t expect them to knock her down!
The picture below captures that reaction- lol

IMG_7363

She didn’t cry! I was so proud of her!
She just kept on going! Big girl!

IMG_7379 IMG_7387 IMG_7393 IMG_7375 IMG_7370 IMG_7354

We had a nice little picnic lunch and it was a wonderful time!

IMG_7381
I thought this surely would make for a super good nap and tired girl… nope!
My usually amazing napper hasn’t taken one in 2 days! AHHH!

Oh well… this too shall pass!
Here’s to the return of the afternoon nap!

Fun in the Sun!

Standard

I found this little splash pad last year after summer was over.
It was on clearance at Academy for less than $5! Can you believe that!
A true steal I couldn’t pass up!
I knew we would use it this summer and maybe many more!

Enjoy a photo-dump of our afternoon in the sun.

Check out those curls!

Climbing and playing first to warm up!

Finally got brave enough to go in… with mom close by of course.

Sweetness!

IMG_7319 IMG_7320

Post playtime watermelon snack!
She ate 3 wedges and was mad I wouldn’t give her more!
(It was 20 minutes from dinnertime!)

We had a lot of fun playing outside today!
So fun to be able to play in the water in our own backyard!

Celebrating Addyson Joy

Standard

A couple of weeks ago these lovely dear friends of mine threw Addyson and I an awesome diaper shower!

IMG_7230

What a great blessing!
Here are a few pics of the day!

IMG_7232 IMG_7231 IMG_7225 IMG_7208 IMG_7207 IMG_7206

Check out that AMAZING diaper cake Jeni made!

The next picture makes me smile…
This pretty much sums up Halle… a ham-
always smiling and making people laugh!

IMG_7214

It was a great day and a lot of fun!
Miss Addyson is loved and blessed, and she isn’t even here yet! :)
Thank you Jeni and Tracie for a wonderful day!

Nesting is in FULL FORCE for this Mommie.
I am almost done with Addyson’s room. Here is a sneak peek!
I hope to do a full post soon, so I can remember it before she gets here and we change it all!

At first, I wasn’t too crazy about birds. I thought it was too similar to Halle’s owl theme,
but I just love it too much!

We are about 5 1/2 weeks from my due date.
Halle was about 1 1/2 weeks early, so
I am wondering when this little girl will decide to make her debut!
I am so excited to meet her and see what she looks like!
I don’t even know her yet and already feel so blessed to get to be her Mommie.

In other news…

Halle has learned how to blow bubbles.
post2
She has hair that I cannot tame…

post1

We moved her changing table and rocking chair to Addyson’s room
and created a reading corner… She LOVES it!
post3

Also…
She rarely leaves the house without a necklace on.
She is a walking machine (WOOHOO!).
She kisses and loves on any stuffed animal she can get her hands on.
She loves to dance. The Hokey Pokey is a current fave.
She thinks everyone (including her), has a baby in their stomach :)
She knows lots and lots of animal sounds and never stops talking!
She is interested in the potty and we have had 3 successful trips!

Whirlwind Trip

Standard

IMG_7170

This weekend we made a super fast whirlwind trip to the Dallas area to visit with family.

car seat

This girl was a super duper car rider and stuck with us and cooperated the whole trip!
It was about 12 hours of driving in about 36 hours!
(We also turned her to forward facing! Eek! She looks so tiny to me in that huge seat!)

Side note: We are working on getting rid of pacifiers!
They are only currently allowed in bed and the in the car.
So far so good!
We will be getting rid of the car one very soon!

We did take some time between family visits to get to the Dallas World Aquarium.
Halle was more interested in keeping up with the 650 school kids that joined us that morning!
She absolutely thought she was hot stuff running around and yelling like them.
IMG_7070 IMG_7086 IMG_7082 IMG_7163 IMG_7160 IMG_7154 IMG_7146 IMG_7144

Her vocabulary is growing by leaps everyday! It was fun to hear her try to repeat all of the animal names and
take in all the sites and sounds of a jungle atmosphere and all of the fish!
IMG_7125 IMG_7107 IMG_7094IMG_7182

We were able to visit Chris’ Pawpaw, which was wonderful. Halle slept through most of that visit
(since she still doesn’t sleep well anywhere but her own bed- she had some sleep to catch up on).
And we had a nice dinner with Chris’ dad and step-mom Ann!

It was a great, but very exhausting time and we are so thankful for family and time spent with them!

Easter 2013

Standard

IMG_6936

We had a wonderful Easter this year!
I think it was the first time in… maybe forever… that we didn’t have anything on our calendar
for three days in a row! That NEVER happens!

We did an egg hunt at church on Palm Sunday. Halle seemed to have a great time, once she figured it all out.

IMG_6767 IMG_6772 IMG_6775

Saturday, our good friend D was having an Easter get-together in his neighborhood.
The Easter bunny was going to be there, and well, we had to keep tradition and do another bunny pic.
It didn’t happen. I don’t even have a picture of Halle with bunny because she was so not doing it this year.
Oh well. There’s always next year I suppose. We ended up playing chalk and got covered from head to toe in dust!
We also went to a local church for a petting zoo and a chance to get in a fire truck!

IMG_6929 IMG_6923 IMG_6916 IMG_6947 IMG_6936

Easter morning, we did our own small egg hunt and gave Halle her Easter Basket.
I couldn’t wait for her to get her Baby Alive doll. They have this doll at church and Halle plays with it
the whole time she is in the nursery. It has been by her side since… even went to bed with her! I am
afraid that she is going to be trying to feed Addyson everything under the sun now though! haha!

IMG_6976 IMG_6964 IMG_6959 IMG_6954 IMG_6951 IMG_6950

IMG_7057

The Easter Bunny also brought Halle more bubbles to play with. So we had an Easter morning
bubble session in the front yard!

IMG_7048 IMG_7047

IMG_7045

The morning concluded with Daddy reading the Easter story from Halle’s Jesus Storybook Bible and church.
It was a super relaxing weekend, and we all are so thankful for the time we got to spend together!

AND!!!! Halle is now walking! About 50% of the time! YAY!!
This pregnant Mommie is getting tired of lugging TWO babies every where! :)
So proud of her!

Bluebonnets: What a difference a year makes

Standard

Last week we went and took bluebonnet pictures.
I remember when I was little we would pull over on the side of the road to take these
pictures too. I’d do the whole “Moooooomm, do I have to?” thing, end up getting attacked by
ants and we would leave with a few decent shots! haha!

I too will be that Mom!

IMG_6754 IMG_6685 IMG_6581

IMG_6570

Look at this sweet girl. I just keep looking at these photos and can’t believe how PRETTY she is!

We of course went with our buddies D and P!
These are this year’s photos…

These next ones are just last year…
I CANNOT GET OVER THE CHANGES IN THESE KIDS!

IMG_6312 IMG_6295 IMG_6265

These are so funny!

Here is Halle from just last year.

IMG_6134

To this year…

IMG_6587 IMG_6566 IMG_6578

It is so neat to watch these three grow, learn and change!
We are three blessed Mommies to get to raise these awesome kids!
